Valve heeft besloten de cross-play voor Counter Strike: Global Offencive te cancelen. Online tegen elkaar spelen via de PlayStation3, Mac en PC zal niet mogelijk worden voor de game die deze zomer verschijnt.
In een gesprek tussen Joystiq en Valve’s Chet Faliszek kwam naar voren dat de data die terug kwam uit de beta van de game niet al te best was.
Chet Faliszek:
“The beta has proved we want to update not just the beta, but the game itself post-launch frequently on the PC. To do that we need to separate the platforms so one doesn’t hamstring the other. So for that, we have removed the idea of cross-platform play — essentially make all platforms stronger by not mixing them.”
